The fishnet pattern is constructed from black washi tape, echoing kumiko, a traditional Japanese woodworking lattice, reinterpreted here to represent social restriction. Many of us have accepted these cultural expectations unconsciously, limiting our potential and opportunities. This piece depicts the moment of breaking free from those norms.
