The repeating circle pattern, Shippo means "seven treasures" in Buddhism, representing harmony and eternity. The red circles also echo Japan’s flag, grounding the pattern in national identity. The pattern covers her body as both a burden and a source of pride. She exhales the circles into the air, releasing what has been ingrained in her.
