Kikko Yabane, 2026
Washi tape on wood panel
8" × 9.5"
Yabane represents the bird feathers attached to the tips of arrows used for archery. It is considered a good luck charm that protects against evil while also also bringing good fortune. Brides were traditionally given a kimono with this pattern. As the arrow shot never returns, the young bride is not supposed to return to her parents once she is married.
