In Japanese, koyo is the seasonal turning of leaves in autumn. The kanji character for koyo is 紅葉,which can also be read as momiji, the Japanese maple tree. Both represent impermanence. Here, tradition does not remain confined to the fabric. It seeps in and becomes part of the self, whether we choose it or not.
